CHLL.GG Revolutionizing Gaming Engagement
Building engagement for brands and their games by providing gamers with competitive challenges in a web3 environment.
Enhancing Gamer Interaction
CHLL.GG aimed to create a platform that generates engagement for gaming companies by providing users with opportunities to compete in games and set up community events. The challenge was to design a flexible, responsive system with seamless API integrations.

Flexible design systems and responsive web design
Creating a design system that facilitated rapid iterations and swift mock-up for the partners was a primary need of the system. We knew from demographic data and the use case that absolute majority of interactions with the service would be through desktop computers, that's also the screens that stakeholders and partners always wanted to see. That's why developing the design system with responsiveness in mind was crucial. We needed a solution that allows us rapidly iterate and showcase desktop screens without worrying that the mobile will break the site.

Working with partners and APIs integrations
We focused on engaging our partners. This engagement was key to showing our site's value and attracting new users and games. We used APIs to connect these new games and other core web3 features to our system.
The Challenge
The core challenge and goal was to create a web3 platform that fosters engagement between brands and gamers, offering competitive challenges that drive interaction and enthusiasm for games.
Project partners:

Rethinking Responsive Design
Responsive web design often focuses on mobile, tablet, and desktop, but desktop itself encompasses a range of devices. This project forced me to consider the nuances of smaller laptops and ultrawide displays, ensuring our service is optimized for the diverse landscape of desktop devices.

Fast and Flexible System for Quick Adaptation

Created for rapid building and mocking up
The need for quick building and frequent mock-up's for our partners pushed for creation of the design system that could be used for swift action.

Flexible system for both desktop and mobile
Gaming for our users takes place mainly on desktop. That's what our partners want to see too.
To ensure compatibility and usability at any level and enable future growth into new markets the design system was created to handle any breakpoint.

Easier customization with fewer options
Learning from past mistakes we revamped our approach to customization.
Moving away from complicated forms for descriptions, we changed the focus of the customisation to one main image that can be styled in any way the user wants.
Seamless Integration
Handled third-party APIs efficiently
Creating a web3 service requires juggling multiple APIs, creating a web3 service that also collects data from games requires even more work with APIs. Design wise this means working within and around constrains of these often predefined components. Often styling with CSS alone.
Ultra-fast onboarding with no registration required
Gamers value their time and prefer spending it playing rather than navigating complex services. At CHLL.GG, we've prioritized a seamless onboarding experience, pushing the boundaries of user convenience. We've eliminated the need for traditional registration, streamlining the process to a single step: connecting a wallet using the same number as in-game. This approach allows us to automatically calculate and process all necessary data for challenges, requiring no additional input from users.
By minimizing friction, we ensure players can quickly dive into the action, maximizing their gaming time and enhancing overall satisfaction.
User entry points
- Bigger events: Partnered events that aim to boost engagement and encourage users to join challenges without friction.
- Smaller social media events: Targeted events that promote specific challenges and drive user participation.
- Media partner events: Events hosted by media partners that require seamless challenge entry to enhance user experience.
- Game-based events: Events centered around specific games, where users need to easily connect their game accounts to participate.
- Organic users: A percentage of users who participate in challenges simply for the enjoyment of competition and to engage with their favorite games.

Given that the majority of our traffic comes through social media channels of partners and sponsors, we recognized the critical need for a streamlined user experience. Our challenge was to design a user flow that:
- Capitalized on the initial interest of visitors
- Accommodated users with limited patience
- Maximized conversion rates from social media clicks
By minimizing steps and eliminating unnecessary barriers, we've created a seamless journey that transforms curious visitors into engaged participants within moments of arrival.
This approach not only respects users' time but also leverages the momentum of their social media-driven interest, ensuring we don't lose potential players to a cumbersome onboarding process.
To create a seamless onboarding experience, we focused on removing as many barriers as possible. We took it a step further by eliminating the need for account creation altogether. Now, users can simply connect a wallet associated with the game and start competing in challenges immediately. This streamlined approach minimizes friction and gets users engaged quickly.
Enhancing and Expanding the User Experience
Through iterative refinement and strategic enhancements, CHLL.GG has evolved significantly over its lifecycle. By embracing a culture of continuous improvement, we've been able to expand and enrich the user experience, introducing new features and optimizations that meet the evolving needs and expectations of our community.
Accommodating tokens and their interactions
A big breakthrough in developing the service was introducing its own token - a type of digital coin unique to the platform. This added a new economic dimension to the service. Users could now:
- Win tokens through competitions
- Stake them (hold onto them as a form of investment)
- Exchange them with others
To make this work, we had to create new parts of the service and update existing ones.

Developed a separate landing page design
We also faced the challenge of designing an eye-catching homepage. This page needed to:
- Create excitement about our service
- Visually showcase our work to sponsors and partners
- Display our collection of current and future titles
It's worth noting that while most of our regular users didn't enter our site through this page, it was still important for attracting new partnerships and showcasing our offerings.
The End Product
CHLL.GG launched on time, successfully introducing our service to a new audience in a growing and exciting market. Our platform:
- Connects brands and their games with gamers
- Offers competitive challenges for players
- Uses web3 technology to create a unique environment
This new service helps increase engagement between brands and gamers, all within an innovative digital space.
Successful Launch and Integration

Successful launch of a new product
We successfully launched our new product, CHLL.GG. The launch generated excitement among our target audience and quickly attracted users. Early user feedback was positive, and we saw strong initial adoption rates.

Two games integrated, with more in development
We integrated two new games into our platform, expanding our offering for users. These additions diversified our game library and attracted new players. We're actively developing partnerships to bring more games on board. This ongoing expansion of our game selection is a key part of our strategy to keep our platform fresh and engaging for our growing user base.
By addressing the needs of both gaming companies and users, CHLL.GG has set a new standard for engagement in the gaming industry, creating a dynamic platform that fosters community and competition.
